Special Classes
We offer two one hour special classes a week. These classes are demonstrations given by specialists in our industry.
Master The Arts Day
Every month we close our schools for half a day. We invite salon owners, guest artists, and motivational speakers to perform for our students. This is a very fun and exciting day.
Industry Insight Day
Each quarter we close our academies for five hours to invite a product manufacturer to introduce our students to their products and demonstrate their use, at the same time showing us what is new in products, tools, and fashions. This class is always very informative. Students may purchase products at greatly reduced prices at this event.
Skin Care
A Master Esthetician teaches hands on skin care two days a week.
Hair Cutting
Sherman Kendall teaches his Tricho-Symmetrics hair cutting system once weekly.
Tony Shiraki, Guest artist and salon owner, demonstrates hair cutting each week at the Ft. Union academy.
Keiji, Guest artist and salon owner, demonstrates hair cutting each week at the Sugarhouse academy.
Barbering
Gary Raliston, Barber and salon owner, demonstrated clipper cutting and barbering techniques regularly.
Competitions
Each academy sponsors one student competition each quarter. Fantasy, evening, cutting makeup, and nails categories are judged and awarded prizes.
Student Artistic Team
Five students from each school are chosen to represent our Academies in promotional events.
Photo Shoots
All students are invited to participate in a quarterly photo shoot to demonstrate their talent and build their portfolio.
Video Room
Each Academy is equipped with a quiet video room and an extensive educational video collection for the use of all students at their leisure.
Out of Academy Activities
The Women’s Show in the Expo Center, all senior students get an opportunity to work on stage. Every quarter, our design team and senior students work in a brides event at Thanksgiving point. We also sponsor many charity events where students may participate in community service.

All of these extra activities are an extension to our curriculum and taught by quality staff. All is included in your tuition; there are no extra charges. All of our teachers are licensed and qualified; we do not use student instructors. Our academy is closed for the Christmas holiday from December 25th through January 1st. This holiday does not affect your grade.
